CONGENITAL ABSENCE OF THE RADIUS

Congenital absence of the radius occasionally occurs, in which case growth of the ulna pushes the hand to the radial side.
The lower articular surface of the ulna is expanded, and articulates with proximal row of carpal bones. This is a form of Madelung's deformity.
